Digital Collections

Ebooks, databases, and online resources for learning and research.

What We Offer

The Library Earl Haig digital collections give you access to ebooks, audiobooks, academic databases, and curated subject guides. Whether you are working on an essay, preparing a presentation, or reading for pleasure, these resources are available from school and from home using your school account.

Ebooks and Audiobooks

Our ebook and audiobook collection includes fiction and nonfiction for course work and independent reading. You can borrow titles for a set loan period and read or listen on a computer, tablet, or phone. No need to visit the building to return digital titles—they automatically expire at the end of the loan.

To get started, use the link provided by the library (often via the school portal or this site). Sign in with your school credentials, browse or search, and borrow with one click. If you have trouble logging in or finding a title, ask in the library or email your teacher or librarian.

Academic Databases and Journals

For research and assignments, the library subscribes to databases that offer reliable, curriculum-aligned sources. These include full-text articles, reference entries, and sometimes primary sources. Using these tools helps you meet academic integrity expectations and build strong research habits.

Access is typically through the same school login you use for other services. From the library homepage you can reach the list of databases; choose one that fits your subject (e.g. history, science, literature). Many databases have built-in citation tools so you can export references in MLA or APA format.

Curated Subject Guides

Subject guides pull together the best links, databases, and tips for a particular course or topic. Instead of searching the whole web, you can start from a guide that has already been checked for quality and relevance. Guides are updated as courses and resources change.

You will find links to subject guides on this page and in the library. Use them when beginning a project or when you want to explore a topic in more depth. For advanced or cross-disciplinary work, combine guides with a visit to the Research Archive and Academic Support services.

Using Digital Resources Responsibly

Digital access is a privilege that comes with responsibility. Use your account only for yourself; do not share login details. When you use database articles or ebooks in assignments, cite them properly. The library provides citation guidance and tools; take advantage of them to avoid plagiarism and to give credit to authors.

If you notice a broken link or a resource that no longer works, please tell the library so we can update our lists and help others.
